What is the
Student Direct Stream?
The Student Direct Stream (SDS) program is
designed to expedite the process of obtaining a Canadian study permit for
certain international students.
Eligibility
Requirements for Canada’s Student Direct Stream?
The SDS program is available to residents of
14 countries: Antigua and Barbuda, Brazil, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, India,
Morocco, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Senegal, St. Vincent and the Grenadines,
Trinidad and Tobago, and Vietnam.
Canada aims to process all SDS-eligible study
permit applications within 20 calendar days.

for a Canadian study permit through the SDS program, prospective students must:

following English language tests are accepted by Immigration, Refugees and
Citizenship Canada (IRCC):
Successful applicants will receive a letter of
introduction, also known as a Port of Entry (POE) letter of introduction, along
with a temporary resident visa to enter Canada. This letter, issued by IRCC,
serves as proof of study permit approval and must be presented to a visa
officer upon arrival in Canada.
Applicants from the listed countries must be
residing in their home country at the time of applying for a study permit
through the SDS program.
