is Invitation to apply?
An Invitation to Apply (ITA) is a pivotal
document issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to
individuals within the Express Entry pool. Receiving an ITA marks
a significant step forward in your journey toward Canadian permanent residence.
The process of obtaining an ITA involves
several steps:
1.
Submitting Express Entry
Profile: Candidates start by creating and submitting
their Express Entry profile, entering them into the pool of candidates.
2.
Comprehensive Ranking System
(CRS): Profiles
in the pool are ranked using the CRS, which assigns points based on various
factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, etc.
3.
Receiving an ITA: Candidates with high CRS scores are regularly invited to apply for
permanent residence through Express Entry draws conducted by IRCC. If selected,
you'll receive an ITA, allowing you to move to the next stage of the process.
How to
Obtain an ITA:

Express Entry Profile: Create and submit your Express Entry profile online.

CRS Ranking: Your profile will be ranked based on CRS points.
·
Selection in Draws: Candidates with the highest scores receive an ITA to apply for
permanent residence.
Timeline
for Receiving an ITA:

Timing: Highly ranked candidates can expect to receive an ITA within days to
weeks after submitting their profile.
·
Profile Validity: If not selected immediately, your profile remains active in the pool
for 12 months.
·
Improving CRS Score: If not selected for several months, consider improving your CRS score
through language tests or provincial nomination programs.
After
Receiving an ITA:
·
Application Submission: You'll have 60 days to prepare and submit an electronic Application
for Permanent Residence (eAPR) through the IRCC online portal.
·
Document Submission: Prepare and submit scanned copies of all required documents as part of
your application.
Receiving an ITA opens the door for you to
apply for Canadian permanent residency, bringing you closer to your goal
of settling in Canada.
